“Profiling” gets a bad rap. But isn’t that what many leaders do when they use Strengths Finder, DISC, or Myers-Briggs during the hiring process? Ok, maybe you don’t like that term. You think of these as “assessments” instead of profiles. Or maybe you see them as evaluations. Or gifting tests.
No matter what, they are tools LOTS of leaders use when hiring and building a team, and for good reason. But there are a million ways to misuse them too. In this episode of the 5 Leadership Questions podcast Barnabas, Todd, and Daniel Im ask 5 questions about the best ways to use profiles and assessments to craft the best team.
- Which assessments are available?
- Which do you use? Why?
- What are you looking for in the results?
- What part of the overall hiring decision should an assessment be?
- How would you respond to people who doesn’t like these assessments for some reason? (They put people in a box. They don;t leave room for God’s guidance. Etc.)
